dc.description.abstractTo date, it was evidently shown that tetrapyrrolic macrocycles (porphyrins, chlorins, bacteriochlorins, phthalocyanines) are used as photosensitizers with exceptional properties, multifunctional abilities and excellent biocompatibility for the photodynamic therapy (PDT) as anticancer drugs. Here, we discuss some principal aspects which should be taken into account upon quantitative analysis of the interaction with molecular oxygen O2 and the singlet oxygen 1Δg generation by various tetrapyrrolic photosensitizers (including monomers, chemical dimers, triads, pentads and organic-inorganic nanoassemblies).ru
