Papermaking properties of recycled pulp obtained from office paper, thermomechanical and chemithermomechanical pulp were investigated. The optimal refining parameters of recycled pulp and chemithermomechanical pulp such as refining time, rotational disk speed and refiner disk gap, allowing to increase their papermaking properties, were determined. It was found that recycled pulp exhibits the greatest efficiency (among the pulps under investigation) of chemical pulps replacing in the furnish composition of offset printing paper.

The combined effect of artificial climatic factors (ultraviolet irradiation, moisture, temperature) on mechanical properties and surface structure of polymer films derived from powder paints is studied in this article. Methods and equipment for researches are also described. The effect of chemical structure of the film-forming material and hardening agent on the spatial grid structure that defines mechanical properties of the film and their change under climatic factors is reviewed.

Methods of reception of fragrance substances are defined on the basis of vanillin and veratraldehyde by aldol-crotonic condensation with aliphatic and aromatic ketones (acetone, methylethylketone, heptanone-2, ?-ionone, acetophenone, p-methylacetophenone, p-acetyl-anisole). Distinctive feature of the given technique is the use of methanol as solvent and the replacement of potassium hydroxide on sodium hydroxide. For allocation of products of condensation from methanolic solution it is expedient to use 5%-s' solutions of hydrochloric acid instead of acetic acid that allows to receive purer product and raises its yield up to 80–90%. With the help of Infrared Spectroscopy the presence of the functional groups in the received substances was proved.

The possibility of waste processing into moulded articles by pressing with preplastication has been ascertained. Physical and mechanical properties of materials from mixed polymeric wastes have been defined. Recommendations on the regimes of waste processing suitable in terms of their technological and technico-economic parameters have been worked out.

The paper studies the influence of the properties of the waste paper on the properties of a paper sheet. The obtained data demonstrate the ability of different types of waste to the dissolution and grinding. It has been shown that paper properties such as breaking length, absorbency at unilateral wetting, elongation, wet strength, breaking force of various types of fibrous materials recycled fibrous materials must be taken into consideration in paper and cardboard mills in the manufacture of paper and cardboard with a different field of application. It is concluded that the selected samples of waste paper can be recycled in paper mills of the Republic of Belarus as fibrous raw material to produce various kinds of paper.

Investigations of polydienes with various chemical structures and microstructures were carried out, and interrelations of molecular-structural characteristics of polydienes with their macroscopic properties in thermo-oxidation processes were shown. An experimental-formal approach to substantiation of cross-linking and destruction depth of carbon-chain linear polydiene macromolecules is proposed. The extrapolation value of the molecular weight of the chain ensuring activation of chemical reactions of vulcanization and oxidation was obtained. It is proposed to use the criterion of destruction for calculating the number of chain splinters resulting from macromolecule ruptures.

It has been presented qualitative and quantitative chromatographic analysis of hypericin containing extracts of St. John's Wort which could be used for producing drugs for treating of oncological diseases by the method of photodynamic therapy. The optimal conditions of carrying out of TLC and HPLC analysis of ethanol St. John's Wort extracts have been selected. The chromatographic separation of St. John's Wort extract has been carried out assisted by Diaion HP-20 sorbent. This separation gave the opportunity to enrich the initial extract with hypericins more than in 4 times.

The article deals with the problem of microorganisms’ resistаnce to antibiotics at dairy farms and complexes (DFC). The aim of the work – analysis of resistance of E. coli to antibiotics used at DFC. As a result we determined the range of resistance of coli-forms to antibiotics used at the dairy complex “Zabolot” of Grodno district. It was shown that received strains of microorganisms E. coli have high resistance to the following antibiotics: oletetrin, erythromycin, polymyxin, benzylpenicillin. E. coli bacteria remained high sensitivity to ceftriaxon, sisomicin, furadonin, kanamycin, gentamicin. This fact allows to recommend these antibiotics for animals coli-bacteriosis treatment at DFC.

The results of the researches of the effect of composite filler on the properties of the composite polygraphic cardboard NVP-0.5 obtained in JSC «Slonim cardboard-paper mill «Albertin» on a cardboard machine CM-2 are presented in the article. The proposed composite filler is obtained from available raw materials and makes it possible to replace the imported (kaolin) completely. It is shown that the filler allows to increase whiteness of the polygraphic cardboard NVP-0.5 by 5–8% and that of the ash content in structure by 17.6–18.2%.

The results of the study of hydrogel matrix stability by means of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy are described in the article. Ionizing radiation effect on auxiliary substances and active ingredients of hydrogel polymeric matrixes have been studied. It has been proved that under the influence of high-velocity electrons at absorbed doses 25–35 kGy the formation of a three-dimensional polymeric structure of the matrix occurs. It has been ascertained that active ingredients of hydrogels miramistin and gentamycin are stable under absorbed radiation doses in the range 5–35 kGy.

The possibility of the use of ground fibreglass wastes as fillers and thermosetting resins as binders to manufacture the articles for household and constructive use have been studied. Parameters of the mechanical properties of materials with different fraction composition have been determined. Influence of the mechanical action on particle size has been studied. Experimental test for checking the possibility of component combination has been carried out. Quality of materials has been examined. Recommendations for the use of the existing technologies in the manufacture of articles have been worked out. The obtained results can be used in developing product design, in determining the areas and conditions of their effective application as well as in choosing technologies for their processing.

The comparative analysis of the received experimental data testifies that, properties of printing cardboard essentially depend on structure and the weight of one square meter of its elementary layers. We defined the preferable structure of top layer (40% of bleached softwood sulphate cellulose and 60% of white paper for recycling of mark МB-1), intermediate layer (40% of bleached softwood sulphate cellulose and 60% of white paper for recycling of mark МB-2) and primary layer (60% of modular paper for recycling of mark МС-5B and 40% of white paper for recycling of mark МB-1), the layers differ in the weight of one square meter. The printing cardboard possesses the demanded physicomechanical characteristics corresponded to ТURB 00280146.030-98 in that case when the weight of one meter square is 60 g for the top layer, 50 g for the intermediate and 130 g for the primary layer.

The paper presents the results of a comprehensive study of changes in the properties of filmforming compositions based on epoxydiane oligomer. Curing was carried out by a modified hardener. The degree of structurization changes depending on the amount of the hardener. The effect of timetemperature conditions, ratio of initial oligomers, and nature of the solvent on the process of epoxydiane resin curing by modified polyamide was determined.

The possibility of application of composite sheet materials on the basis of acrylonitrile-butadienstyrene plastics (ABS-plastics) for production of details of the exterior and interior parts of roadbuilding equipment by a method of a positive thermoformation has been investigated in the article. It was of a great interest to estimate physicomechanical properties of composite ABSplastic formable products, to study the influence of technological parameters of a termoformation on operational properties of details. Objects of research are the multilayered sheet products received by a method of positive thermoformation. The resistance of ABS-plastics in the conditions of practical use has also been investigated.The authors have made recommendations on the use of thermoformed ABS-plastic details for manufacturing of road-building technics.

Synthetic isoprene rubber (SIR) is similar in structure and to the properties of natural rubber (NR). Currently, it can almost completely replace NR in the production of automobile tires and rubber products. An urgent task is to study the aging processes of polymers and their products, assess the impact of various factors on the oxidative stability of polymers and the selection of effective ways to protect polymers from aging. We simulated aging of inhibited (commodity) and reprecipitation (purified) polyisoprene.

Thermolysis of benzoyl and acetylbenzoyl peroxides in methanol-d4 under temperature and microwave radiation treatment was studied. It was shown that chemical induced dynamic nuclei polarization can be observed even when reaction is carried out in spectrometers with high magnetic fields. In this case spin correlation in geminate radical pairs with labile aceloxy radicals persists. Equal quantity of products is obtained independent of the way of peroxide decomposition initiation. Homolysis proceeds according to chain mechanism. Contribution of induced decomposition decreases while reaction proceeding. Molecules of dissolved oxygen terminate the chain effectively, decreasing the rate of the reaction of peroxide decomposition. In the case of acetylbenzoyl yield of products depends of initiation mechanism: under microwave radiation treatment molecules of solvent are more active, but dissolved oxygen is less active than under thermolysis condition.

Fumaric acid polyamids were synthesized by interaction of fumaric acid with polyamines (diethylenetriamine, triethylenetetramine) by equilibrium polycondensation in the melt. The obtained products are promising as hardening additives in the technology of paper and cardboard. This article studies the type and rate effects of fumaric acid polyamides on some paper strength properties (breaking length, breaking force in dry and wet states). It is shown that the greatest effect of the paper hardening is achieved by using the additive, which is a product of polycondensation of fumaric acid and diethylenetriamine.

We propose the possibility of obtaining layered composite materials on the basis of based on woodveneer with the use of thermoplastic polyolefin film binders and a copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate. A method for increasing the adhesion of polymer compositions to wood filler was specified. The effect of modification on the strength of the composition of the material was studied. The test results of physical and mechanical properties of composite materials obtained by using the modified films were shown.

The results of studies on the synthesis of modified by oil alkyd resin with the use of bicyclo [2,2,2] oct5-ene-2,3-dicarboxylic acid anhydride as acylation agent in the polycondensation reaction with polyols for obtaining lacquer coatings and the study of their operational properties are presented in this article. It is found that the chemical modification of alkyd resin by replacing phthalic anhydride on bicyclic dicarboxylic acid anhydride allows to increase hardness, strength, adhesion of coatings formed on steel substrates.

The article is devoted to investigation of reinforcement effeiciency of the agents received on the basis of styrene copolymers and maleic anhydride on the properties of paper made of recycled pulp. It was established that for modification of styrene copolymers it is resonable to use NH4OH. Preferred content of maleic anhydride is 20?22 mol. %. The molecular weight of maleic anhydride copolymers should be in the range of 5,500?6,500 c. u. The reinforcement of styrene copolymers is manifested when the content of them in fibrous slurry is 0.5% of the mass of a. d. s. Drying temperature (120±2?C) increases this effect, the strength of paper samples testifies it.

The research result of the modified rosin as a component of model compositions for precision cast-ing is given in the article. The last five years successes in producing the latest products from rosin are reached. The present researches are aimed at studying the physical and mechanical properties of pellets produced from hardwood. For the experiment black alder and birch widespread on the territory of the Republic of Belarus hardwood timber has been chosen. It is stated that the use of wood in an unaltered form is impractical because the pellets derived from them have a low mechanical strength. The technological solution of this problem was the treatment of crushed wood raw material by saturated steam. The results of industrial tests confirmed that wood particles activation of hardwood fuel pellets gives the required quality standard. Technical feature of the technology is the use of a matrix with the length of the pressing channel 33 mm.

The possibility of newly synthesized pyrazole derivatives using as heat stabilizers of high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE): 1-acetyl-4-methyl-3(5)-(2-(3-nitrophenyl)vinyl)-1H-pyrazole (additive 1) and 4benzoyl-3-(2-(4-nitrophenyl)vinyl-5-phenyl-1-tosyl-1H-pyrazole (additive 2)) has been studied. It is established that the introduction of additive 1 or 2 in the amount of 0,05-0,10 wt % to the high-pressure polyethylene leads to the increasing of such physical-mechanical properties of the samples as tensile strength by 1,2–1,5 times and elongation by 2,3–3,0 times in comparison with the unstabilized sample. Synthesized substances are more effective than Tioalkofen MBP used in industry.

The paper deals with development of the effective mode of isolation of hypericins from St. John's Wort including Soxhlet extraction with ethanol as a solvent. In Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of the RB were found out the kinds of St. John's Wort, which contain the largest amounts of hypericins. They may be used as material for producing of phytopreparations and drugs for treating oncological diseases by the method of photodynamic therapy.

The article represents the results of researches that allow to establish the appropriateness of usage of aspenwood modified by sodium monosulphite as a raw material for thermomechanical pulp (TMP) in newsprint production. Replacement of 30% of sprucewood by aspen using 1% consumption of sodium sulphite permits to achieve strength of samples of unbleached TMP 4510 m, which ensures the highest demands to newsprint. In this case the process of wood grinding accelerates and the reactivity of hemicelluloses and lignin increases.

The article is devoted to the problems of detection of residual quantities of antibiotics and inhibitors in raw milk. It was analyzed the following microbiological methods: substances diffusion into agar, reductase probe, biocalorimetry and biotesting of microalgae motion. In the publication was shown that methods of biocalorimetry and biotesting of Euglena gracilis motion allow to increase sensitivity of antibiotics detection and to decrease time and labour inputs for analyses. These methods may be recommended for practical application at dairy farms and dairy processing enterprises.

The effect of PTFE F4 and the product of thermal gas-dynamic synthesis “Forum” on the technical properties of the elastomer compositions based on butadiene-nitrile rubber NBR-18 are investigated. The addition of modifying agents improves following characteristics: the heat-ageing resistance of vulcanized rubber, swelling resistance in hydrocarbon liquids and abrasion resistance of elastomeric compositions.

Epoxy resin compositions modified by compounds containing isocyanate fragments are recently of considerable scientific and practical interest. However, only some of them are widely used. Urethane fragments in the molecular structure of epoxy units of oligomeric molecules cause the improvement of the deformation-strength properties of polymer materials. The aim of this work is the development and study of film-forming composites with improved physical, mechanical and chemical properties by modifying the epoxy oligomers by the polyisocyanates.

The surface-active and colloid-chemical properties of surfactant technical specimens Genapol LRO, Texapon K12G, TWEEN 20, TWEEN 80 and Cremophor A25 have been studied using different methods of analysis. The surface activity, adsorption, micelle formation and solubilization quantitative characteristics have been determined, hydrophilic-lipophilic balance has been calculated. It has been shown that the usage of the investigated specimens in cosmetic compositions is related to with their surface-active and colloid-chemical properties determining their function in cosmetics (stabilizer, emulsifier, solubilizer and others).

A new approach of describing kinetics of curing was proposed. This allowed for formal adjustment of the previously proposed scheme of vulcanization, application of a mathematical model to kinetic curves of any shape and analytical evaluation of isothermal cure kinetics on the basis of economical laboratory experiments. The method of studying kinetics of vulcanization is based on the assumption that individual stages of the vulcanization process significantly differ in speed. To determine rate constants for individual stages the rheometric curve was divided into some areas. It allowed to use only a specific set of ordinary coupled reactions of the first and second order for describing vulcanization of rubbers under analysis. Software for solving direct and inverse problems of the kinetics of isothermal cure was developed.

The effect of carbon nanomaterial (CNM) obtained in high-voltage discharge plasma on properties of elastomeric compositions is investigated. Some tests to determine tensile strength, stretching strain, abrasion resistance, hardness, fatigue endurance and resistance to heat ageing and swelling in aggressive medium of highly filled rubbers based on raw rubber for general and special application are carried out. Parameters of the vulcanization network of the samples are determined by the method of equilibrium swelling. It is shown that CNM addition permits to improve performance characteristics of elastomers based on butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber.

The effect of modification of tar by iron (III) stearate on the rate of the oxidation process and the quality of oxidized bitumen has been studied. The dependences of the softening temperature of bitumen upon the oxidation time, the dynamic viscosity of bitumen on the temperature have been obtained. Penetration, penetration index, group composition and thermal-oxidative stability of oxidized bitumen modified by iron (III) stearate have been determined. It was determined that small quantities of a modifier (up to 1.5 wt %) in the raw material don’t influence the rate of oxidation, and with increasing content of the modifier in the raw material the rate of the process is increased by 1.6–4.0 times.

Dependence of thermal shrinkage of films based on polyvinylchloride (PVC) on temperature is established. The technique of determining PVC film shrinkage speed within a wide interval of temperatures is developed. The effect of the content of the plasticizer and heat treatment on the physicomechanical parameters of PVC films is shown. The influence of the duration of mixing the components of the mix on physico-mechanical parameters of PVC films is established. Linear equations of regression of temperature rise kinetics in the course of mixing the ingredients in a high-speed agitator and those of subsequent kinetics of cooling the mix at mixing are obtained.

This article presents one of the promising ways of wear resistance improvement of nanoadditives modification coatings. The protective and decorative coating, composed of nanoadditives, was used to make samples. Testing samples showed that the use of nanoadditives improves coating operational characteristics, or wear resistance in this case. The dependence of wear resistance coatings on the flow nanoadditives was studied.
